Cornerstone understands that Middle school students are beginning to gain their independence, but they still need direction. Our staff works with parents and students to create an environment where every child is given the opportunity to perform at his or her best.
Though middle school students are expected to excel, they’re given the helping hand of assistance they need. In order to accomplish this task, we strive for an understanding of the needs and nature of middle school students and make a strong commitment to meeting those needs. Each student meets with the Guidance Department for mentoring and direction in academic, spiritual and social areas. Students are encouraged to build their identities, develop gifts and talents, and explore their personalities.
During this time, students learn responsibility, decision-making and time management, while further honing their study habits. The middle school curriculum also encourages students’ expanding interests it has been specifically created to meet the unique spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical needs of students in Middle School. In grades 6 through 8 it is when students experience a greater degree of growth and development than at any other time in their lives.
Therefore, the services we provide them are tailored to their specific needs. Our programs cultivate students strengths and identify weaknesses, filling in any existing gaps in their skills.
Middle school is a time of exciting growth for CCS students. And once they leave, they are well-prepared to take on the challenges and decisions of high school and then life.
We believe you will find Cornerstone to be a warm, nurturing, welcoming, and safe place to pursue academic and spiritual excellence!
